|Bioinformatics Analyst I or Research Analyst I||
This entry-level position with the Next-Generation Sequencing Informatics (NGSI) group requires a bioinformatics programmer with experience in genomics tool development and deployment.
|Bioinformatics Programmer 2||
This junior-level position with the Next-Generation Sequencing Informatics (NGSI) group requires a bioinformatics programmer with strong coding and Unix command line experience. As the HGSC Bioinformatics Core, NGSI manages the production, maintenance and primary analysis of all HGSC genome sequence data, including HiSeq X Ten informatics. NGSI also contributes to multiple clinical, Mendelian, and large cohort sequencing studies, specifically in the areas of structural variation and at-scale genomic data science. Under the direction of a senior analysts, a qualified candidate will assist with development of both “Big Data” genomics solutions and structural variant detection.
|Bioinformatics Programmer II||120165MV||
The Human Genome Sequencing Center (HGSC) at Baylor College of Medicine is recruiting for a Bioinformatics Programmer 2. This position requires a trained bioinformaticians, preferably with experience in genomics and next generation sequencing. The Genome Assembly and Analysis group is responsible for global and local de novo assembly based analyses and informatics analyses for both research and clinical applications. The candidate will be required to interact with other staff scientists, informaticians, and collaborators. Because of this deep and varied interaction, they will need excellent communication and presentation skills.
The Human Genome Sequencing Center (HGSC) at Baylor College of Medicine has an immediate opening for a Post Doctoral Associate position. We are seeking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with a background in molecular genetics and bioinformatics. The HGSC was founded in 1996 under the leadership of Dr. Richard Gibbs and is a world leader in genomics.
The core project will be to advance our understanding of the mechanism of abnormal neurological development, caused by mutations in the gene AHDC1. Other related projects will study additional selected Mendelian diseases, including selected inherited immune disorders. The work will engage cutting edge genomic, laboratory and computational tools. The environment at the HGSC is ideal for learning new skills in bioinformatics and genomics.
|Research Assistant I||206141MV||
Performs responsible research work of a complex nature that requires planning, completing, and occasionally supervising limited research projects in accordance with general plans approved by the supervisor.
The Baylor College of Medicine Human Genome Sequencing Center (BCM-HGSC) is seeking to recruit a Research Associate to work in the Library Group. The Library Construction group is responsible for preparation of samples for sequencing across multiple NextGen sequencing platforms. The position would principally involve DNA and RNA QC, construction of DNA and RNA libraries for Next-Generation sequencing pipelines (Illumina, Ion Torrent and PacBio), qPCR, sequence capture as well as work with Illumina genotyping arrays.
|Senior Scientific Programmer||133559MV||
Software you write in the Next-Generation Sequencing Informatics (NGSI) clinical informatics group will influence healthcare decisions for thousands of patients and contribute to research projects with far- ranging impacts on human health. The position requires an individual with very strong software development skills; especially design and implementation of highly available production systems. We're looking for experienced software engineers who are up to that challenge, and who have a track record of working in an environment that demands a high level of quality.
|Senior Scientific Programmer||
This senior-level position with the Next-Generation Sequencing Informatics (NGSI) group requires a high-performing programmer and scientist with exceptional communication, organization, and time-management skills.
