Financial Analyst (Hybrid)

Summary

The Financial Analyst position in the Human Genome Sequencing Center(HGSC) will assist with oversight and provides support for the administrative and financial operations in the Human Genome Sequencing Center, a world-class Research Center with an annual budget of >$40M per year. The primary focus of this position is to conduct and document moderate to complex financial analysis projects.

Job Duties

• Provides technological, financial, and operational support to department.
• Balances and reconciles general ledger transactions to the balance sheet.
• Balances and reconciles general ledger transactions to the statement of activities.
• Investigates and corrects errors in the general ledger.
• Analyzes monthly transaction variances.
• May prepare monthly report of operations.
• May consult on systems solutions for accounting issues.
• Prepare invoices, assist with month-end closing.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field.
• Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related.
• Excellent knowledge of basic accounting concepts & GAAP.
• Ability to solve accounting problems and show proof for solutions- cross-checks, supporting data, independent verification of results.
• Advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, Vlookups, various other commons functions: Index, Match, IF, SUMIF, etc.
• Database programming skills such as Access highly preferred.
