Profile

Ziad Khan is a Senior Manager of Bioinformatics Operations at the HGSC, with over 22 years of tenure. During his time, Ziad has played a role in supporting the HGSC’s contribution to the Human Genome Project, as well as various other projects involving Non-Human primates, Arthropods, Invertebrates, and other mammals. For the past 12 years, Ziad has transitioned to Sequencing Informatics and Analysis, where he has managed HGSC’s production informatics, served as liaison between IT, Research, Software Engineering, and has led a team of bioinformaticians and operations specialists. His team ensures 24/7 uptime for all HGSC production sequencing compute and leads innovations in methods and onboarding new sequencing and IT technologies. Bringing technology to science through production innovations is his primary goal and expertise.
